A Beautiful and Intimate Summer Wedding for Sarah and Ian

We were delighted to host the wedding of Sarah and Ian in August 2020, in our first civil ceremony at BOSC.

The wedding took place on our beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the immaculate cricket green and grounds and was followed by a delicious and intimate wedding breakfast.

The unfortunate nature of the COVID pandemic meant that Sarah and Ian had to rearrange their wedding, instead planning for a much smaller ceremony with close friends and family and a wedding breakfast for six people.

We were very pleased to be able to arrange this for them as soon as the government relaxed restrictions on weddings in England, and the wedding did not disappoint.

Why Sarah and Ian chose BOSC

Sarah and Ian viewed a range of venues in the local area before choosing BOSC because of its unique style, and potential to create the wedding they desired. Both keen gardeners, the couple were particularly taken with the idea of having an outdoor ceremony with trees and nature around them.

How we overcame a change in circumstances

Our attentive events coordinator Chermain listened to Sarah and Ian’s requirements right from the word go, and supported them through the changes that the pandemic bought with it, leaving all options on the table, including the potential to postpone until next year.

Sarah and Ian were very keen to get married as soon as they could and Chermain worked with the couple to help create their special day, albeit very different to what they originally had planned – a large wedding with a ceremony on the outdoor terrace, and the evening reception in our gorgeous function room.

The ceremony took place with their nearest and dearest attending, and celebrated the love they have for one another.

“We’d like to say how thrilled we were. The venue was really lovely, overlooking the cricket pitch, and with a function room and terrace upstairs, and a large terrace downstairs. It was the ideal size for all our guests to enjoy the beautiful views and tranquil setting. The balcony provided the perfect space for our ceremony.

“The team at the BOSC really made our day feel special and very welcoming. They were on top of all of the details and due to them, everything ran smoothly and seamlessly. This venue would be great for a wedding or any function, due to its size. And could cater for numerous occasions. We were so impressed, we have decided to book the venue for another function next year. Thank you Chermain, Martyna and Katie,” says Sarah and Ian.
