Easter Events at BOSC

Easter fun this weekend at BOSC

The weather this Easter is set to be glorious. The perfect conditions for the whole family to get out and about and enjoy a raft of activities. If you’re still unsure what to do on Easter Sunday, why not come along to our Easter fun day, held in conjunction with Beacon Church and Lego Heroes.

An Easter service by Beacon Church will take place in the woods surrounding BOSC from 10am. Easter themed crafts, games and music will follow, with an Easter snack at 11am. The real fun begins at 12:30pm when the Easter Egg Hunt starts. The BOSC clubroom is open and taking reservations for Easter lunch from 1pm, so make sure you book a table now.

If you’re looking for other ideas to keep the children entertained during the Easter holidays, we’ve listed some of our favourite crafts to keep your children busy and entertained.

Potato Egg Stamps
Materials: potatoes, knife (for adult use only), paint, paper, paintbrushes (optional)

There’s nothing easier than this quick craft. Simply halve a potato, carve a design into the cut side (stripes work best if you’re a beginner, but feel free to try something more advanced), and let your kids take it from there. We recommend using paintbrushes to minimise the mess.

Paper Egg in Grass
Materials: green paper, coloured paper, markers, scissors (for adult use only), additional items to decorate eggs (optional)

This craft can be whipped up with what you have on hand. Cut out egg shapes in paper, and have your children decorate them with whatever they’d like. After they are finished decorating the ‘eggs’, lay the paper eggs aside, and cut a zig-zag grass pattern in the top of a piece of green paper (the paper should be approximately nine centimetres tall). Attach the ends of the paper to themselves, forming a circle, and balance the decorated egg on the grass circle. Rainy day? Encourage your children to make as many eggs as possible and turn their work into a charming Easter display.

DIY Daffodils
Materials: yellow paper, green paper, cupcake liners, glue

This craft is sure to brighten up any room. Simply cut long, thin strips out of durable green cardstock, and star-shapes out of yellow cardstock. Round off the edges of the stars to make petals and attach a cupcake liner to the middle of the star shape using glue. Glue the flower to the stem, and voila! The perfect easy Easter craft.

The Easter Bunny Challenge
Still looking for more activities? We’ve created an Easter Bunny Challenge activity sheet that can be completed throughout the Easter holidays. The challenge has ten activities, which range from writing your name in the sandpit, to counting how many steps it is from the wooden castle to the biggest slide. It’s the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon (or multiple afternoons) in Hogmoor Inclosure. For a printable certificate of completion, click here.

We hope to see you on Easter Sunday at BOSC for a family fun filled day.
